Just one week after the massive success of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, early discussions have already started about where WWE’s biggest event could go next in North America. While fans are still talking about what happened inside the ring, behind the scenes, cities are already competing to host future editions of the “Showcase of the Immortals.”
WrestleMania’s Global Expansion Plan
WrestleMania 42 took place in Las Vegas and turned out to be one of the highest-grossing events in WWE history, even though attendance was slightly lower than the previous year. WWE is now clearly thinking on a global level.
The company is planning to take WrestleMania to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2027. However, this plan depends on safety and logistics. If everything goes well, it will be the first time WrestleMania is held in the Middle East, showing WWE’s focus on expanding internationally.
Nashville Enters the Race for WrestleMania 2028
Now, attention has shifted to WrestleMania 2028. According to reports by Bryan Alvarez, Nashville has officially submitted a strong bid to host the event.
The city has reportedly offered around $3.5 million along with tax benefits to bring WrestleMania. Nashville had earlier planned to host WrestleMania 43 at the new Nissan Stadium, but things did not work out due to scheduling issues.
Because of that, WWE decided to go in a completely different direction and move WrestleMania 43 overseas.
Nashville’s History With WWE Events
Nashville is not new when it comes to hosting big WWE shows. The city successfully hosted SummerSlam 2022 at the old Nissan Stadium.
That event was also important because it marked the first major WWE show under Triple H as Chief Content Officer. The success of that event has helped Nashville build a strong case for hosting WrestleMania in the future.
Other Cities Also in the Running
Nashville is not the only city interested. Indianapolis and New Orleans are also strong contenders.
WWE already has agreements with both cities to host a future WrestleMania. In fact, New Orleans was originally planned to host this year’s event before WWE President Nick Khan decided to go ahead with Las Vegas instead.
Nick Khan later admitted that the decision to stick with Las Vegas again was his call. Even though it meant repeating the location, the event still turned out to be a big financial success.
What Happened at WrestleMania 42
Inside the ring, WrestleMania 42 delivered some major moments. Cody Rhodes successfully defended his WWE Championship against Randy Orton.
At the same time, Roman Reigns defeated CM Punk to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
These results have already set the stage for future storylines, and both Rhodes and Reigns are expected to remain key faces for upcoming WrestleMania events.
WWE is clearly planning its future very carefully, balancing both global expansion and strong domestic hosting options.
While Saudi Arabia is lined up for 2027, the race for WrestleMania 2028 is already heating up, with Nashville making a serious push and other cities like Indianapolis and New Orleans not far behind.
The competition between cities shows how valuable WrestleMania has become, not just as a wrestling event but as a major business and tourism opportunity.
As WWE continues to grow worldwide, fans can expect even bigger and more diverse locations in the coming years, making each WrestleMania feel truly special and global.
