2025 was a standout year for Kyle Fletcher in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). From title wins to headline matches, the young star proved that he’s not just part of the future — he’s a key player in the present. But while the highs were high, Fletcher’s year also came with one of the scariest moments in recent AEW history.
A Career-Defining Year for Kyle Fletcher
After years of tag team success with Aussie Open, Kyle Fletcher’s singles run in 2025 took off in a major way. He captured the TNT Championship, adding gold to his growing resume, and shared the ring with some of the biggest names in wrestling:
- “Hangman” Adam Page
- Mike Bailey
- Kazuchika Okada
- Will Ospreay
- Jon Moxley
Each of these matches showed a different side of Fletcher — from high-flying agility to hard-hitting physicality. But it was his AEW Continental Classic semifinal match against Jon Moxley that fans will remember most — and not just for the wrestling.
Scary Moment at AEW Worlds End
In a hard-fought match, Fletcher and Moxley went all out. But one particular move had everyone holding their breath — a top-rope suplex gone wrong. Fletcher didn’t rotate fully and landed right on the top of his head and neck.
It was a terrifying moment. Fans in the arena and watching from home were visibly shocked. Fletcher, however, had no idea how serious the bump looked until later.
Fletcher Opens Up About the Botched Spot
Speaking with Wide World of Sports, Fletcher shared his thoughts on the dangerous moment:
“Obviously it didn’t go to plan. It was very dangerous… I didn’t see how nasty the landing was… It was a bit higher on the neck than I was intending, but it didn’t hurt and I felt fine.”
He also revealed that the referee checked on him more than once, which made him realise that something looked worse than it felt.
Fletcher added:
“You live and you learn. Maybe I’m a bit battered and bruised, but it’s nothing more than I’m used to dealing with as a pro wrestler.”
Thankfully, Fletcher walked away from the match with no serious injuries — but it was a reminder of just how risky pro wrestling can be, especially when pushing the limits to entertain the fans.
Moxley Wins, Fletcher Regroups
Although Fletcher lost to Moxley in the semifinal, his performance was praised widely. Moxley went on to win the entire Continental Classic tournament, defeating Kazuchika Okada in the finals and becoming the first AEW Continental Champion.
For Fletcher, 2025 ended on a bittersweet note — full of momentum but falling just short of another championship win. Still, it’s clear that the AEW locker room and fans see him as a rising star with serious potential.
Tension Brewing in The Don Callis Family
As 2026 begins, Fletcher seems ready to take things up a notch — starting with some internal issues in The Don Callis Family. On AEW Dynamite, Fletcher confronted Don Callis, demanding answers about Okada stealing a weapon meant for Fletcher’s own match.
Fletcher’s frustration is clear: he’s tired of the games and wants answers. He said he’s ready to “ask the hard questions,” suggesting that a rift could be forming in the faction.
Upcoming Match on AEW Collision
This week on AEW Collision, Fletcher will team up with Josh Alexander and another Don Callis Family member in a six-man tag match against Skyflight.
With tensions rising and Fletcher more vocal than ever, this match could be a turning point — not just for the team, but for Fletcher’s next chapter in AEW.
