CM Punk to Defend World Title at Elimination Chamber in Chicago
CM Punk’s next big challenge comes in his hometown, where he’ll defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber 2026, airing live from the United Center.
This match is deeply personal. Balor attacked Punk from behind after losing a recent title match at a WWE Raw event in Belfast, Ireland. The following week, he demanded another shot at the title — but was initially denied.
Punk, however, didn’t back down from the fight. In a backstage segment with WWE official Adam Pearce, Punk insisted the match be made official, saying he wanted revenge.

In collaboration with Piece Chicago and PAWS Chicago, Punk launched the Slice To Meet You Campaign, which featured a limited-edition pizza named The Larry. Each $35 pizza sold triggered a $70 donation to PAWS Chicago, a local no-kill animal shelter.

CM Punk captured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event in late 2025 by defeating Jey Uso. The title had been vacated by Seth Rollins following an injury, and Punk took full advantage of the opening.
