In a recent interview with Loaded Magazine, the 55-year-old wrestling icon revealed that he’s currently working on four acting projects. He spoke openly about his passion for the craft and how his wrestling background naturally led him toward acting.
“If you can make it to a high level in wrestling—and I think I have—and you’re playing a character, that’s acting,” Jericho said. “I have about four acting projects in the can, waiting to go at the moment.”
Among the confirmed projects:
- The Walk-On’s: A sports comedy featuring several wrestling stars like Steve Austin, Kenny Omega, Titus O’Neil, and Tyrus. The story revolves around a group of small-town friends who join a local college football team after losing their factory jobs.
- Self Storage: A psychological horror film currently in pre-production, where Jericho is also attached. Details remain under wraps, but it shows his range beyond comedy and wrestling-centric roles.
These projects hint at a strategic shift in Jericho’s career, where he’s exploring more time on sets rather than in the ring.
Is Jericho Done with AEW or Heading to WWE?
Jericho hasn’t appeared on AEW television since April 2025, sparking rumours about his future. Some fans hoped he’d return to WWE—either at the Raw on Netflix anniversary or the Royal Rumble—but he was absent from both.
As of now, there are no official updates on his AEW contract status. Fightful Select reported that while WWE hasn’t included Jericho in any creative plans, sources inside the company would welcome him back if he became a free agent.
It’s worth noting that Jericho reportedly signed a three-year extension with AEW back in 2022, which would technically expire by the end of 2025. However, wrestling contracts often include optional extensions or undisclosed clauses, so it’s unclear whether he’s locked in or exploring options.
