How the Injury Happened
According to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, Breakker was injured while flipping over the commentary table during last week’s Raw episode — a moment that looked intense on-screen but turned out to be genuinely costly.
By Wednesday, WWE officials and medical staff had reportedly made the call for Breakker to undergo surgery, officially pulling him from in-ring appearances. There’s currently no confirmed timetable for his return, though hernia surgery typically requires 4–6 weeks of recovery.
WrestleMania Status in Doubt — But Not Out
Despite being sidelined, there’s still hope for Breakker to return in time for WrestleMania 42, depending on how smoothly his recovery goes.
Originally, WWE was building toward Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins, a high-profile singles match stemming from months of tension and personal attacks. But now, with both men recovering from surgery, the match is in serious question.
How Breakker and Rollins Got Here
The feud began last October, when Seth Rollins tore his rotator cuff during his match with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel 2025. The following week, Breakker turned heel and viciously attacked Rollins on Raw, writing “The Visionary” off TV.
That storyline attack kicked off Breakker’s own title chase. He quickly set his sights on CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship, but lost that title match on January 5.
Still determined to make it to WrestleMania, Breakker entered the Royal Rumble Match from the No. 2 spot — but he never stood a chance.
A mystery attacker, heavily implied to be Seth Rollins, ambushed Breakker at ringside and hit him with a Stomp. The dazed Breakker entered the ring and was immediately eliminated by Oba Femi.

The ambush clearly shook Breakker, who lashed out at ringside equipment on Raw the following Monday. That emotional outburst — flipping over the announce table in frustration — ended up causing the hernia injury that now puts his WrestleMania plans in jeopardy.
