Jake Doyle Reportedly Suffered Significant Injury Wednesday Night on AEW Dynamite

AEW star Jake Doyle may be sidelined for up to six months following a torn bicep injury suffered during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Doyle, a recent addition to The Don Callis Family, was injured while teaming with Mark Davis in a high-stakes match against FTR for the AEW World Tag Team Championships.

Injury Occurs During Title Match vs. FTR

During a heated tag team contest, Doyle took a brutal DDT on the ring apron from Cash Wheeler—a move that immediately caused visible concern. Cameras caught Doyle informing Wheeler that he had “just torn [his] bicep,” and Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez has since confirmed the injury.

With Doyle unable to continue, Mark Davis was forced to wrestle the remainder of the match solo. Despite putting up a strong fight, FTR ultimately retained the titles, thanks in part to interference from Jon Moxley.

Jake Doyle’s AEW Momentum Halted

This injury comes at a difficult time for Doyle, who only made his AEW debut a few weeks ago after wrapping up his latest run with TNA Wrestling, where he was known as Jake Something. Joining the Don Callis Family gave him a fresh platform to shine, and pairing with Davis looked to be a promising alliance.

Unfortunately, the momentum the duo was building has now hit a major roadblock. A torn bicep typically requires 3 to 6 months of recovery, which could keep Doyle out of action until May 2026 at the earliest.

As of now, AEW has not officially commented on Doyle’s status or timeline for return.

What This Means for The Don Callis Family

The injury also poses a challenge for The Don Callis Family’s tag team plans. With Doyle out, it’s unclear how Don Callis will adjust his faction’s presence in AEW’s tag team division. Mark Davis may shift focus to singles competition in the meantime, unless a new partner steps in.

Given the recent success Doyle and Davis had as a team, the injury comes at the worst possible time for both competitors.
